Shooting up the town — Fredericktown, Ohio

Frederictown’s main drag on a Sunday morning.

I’ve driven through Fredericktown many times but never stopped there or deviated from State Route 95.

Last time through, which was a week ago, it occurred to me that, it might be a fun place to photograph.

I grabbed my camera and headed out early this morning. I was not disappointed.

I’ll incorporate shots I took there today with photos of other small towns as part of my villages series.

Here’s another shot:

One of the town’s old houses reflected in a feed mill window.

Oh my God, I forgot to shoot!

Experimental photo from the gallery. The curse of double-pane glass, it spoils reflection shots. Another topic for another day.

The camera has become so much a part of me that I can’t function without it. Take yesterday for instance. I got through most of the day without taking one shot. When I do that I feel disoriented. No fooling.

It wasn’t till I got to the Mansfield Art Center, for an Artist’s Night Out event that I managed to shoot something.

Actually, it was nothing, just some light-hearted experimentation. Nothing I’d post as a photo.

But I will anyway.

Now that I’ve got that out of my system, I’ll post another “incidental shot.”

That one I took a few days ago with my cellphone camera — Samsung Galaxy 6. I paused to take it en route to the mailbox. I posted it on Facebook later that day.

I paused to photograph this lily while walking to the mailbox.
